The Hunger Games

I have started and fimished the book called The Hunger Games.It is the first book in the Hunger Games trilogy.It is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen and her experience in the hunger games. the hunger games is people from 12 districts fight to the deatch in a huge outdoor arena. Right now i have started reading the second book called Catching Fire.

Mike Durant

The ground convoy could not get to Mike Durants crash site in time to rescue him and his crew. He survives and is held captive by Aidid. But no one else at the crash site lives. but the ground convoy did get to the wounded rangers and delta force soldiers. those soldiers were on the ground in mogadishu fighting and surviving for 18 hours. Aidid gives Durant back without getting anything for trade. the end of the book is when Durant is back in America. this book is based on real events and i would recomend it.

Black Hawk Down

I am reading the book black hawk down because i like war books. This is one of my favorite ones so far.I read one called lone survivor which is about a navy seal team that was sent somewhere in afghanistan to take out an insurgent. The mission goes wrong and the rest of the book is about how one navy seal got back to safety.This one is tied with black hawk down so far. in black hawk down the delta force soldiers soldiers are sent to mogadishu to capture some followers of the warlord mohamed farrah aidid.the army rangers are sent in also. During the mission a black hawk is shot down by an RPG. another hellicopter also goesdown by an rpg hit. the ground convoy that was supposed to bring the captives and the soldiers back to base is lost and barely running.the rest so far is how the soldiers are trying to save the people in the wreck and last until rienforcements come, if they even do come.this book is really graphic and tells about how war really is. its really good and i would recomend it to people even though i have not finished it yet.

Achilles

I just read about the part when Patroculus used Achilleses armor to increas moral in the army, and intimidate the trojans. Hector ends up killing Patroculus in battle. Achilles hears about this and wants to get revenge. He gets special armor forged from Hephaestus and then goes out with his warriors and kills Hector.

Diomedes and Odysseus are bullies

These two guys are really mean, here is a part from the book. "then he fell agian to weeping and praying for his life. but diomedes said, "that u may escape and return to spy on us again?" And he struck Dolon cleanly with his sword,so that his head fell from his shoulders while he was still pleading."so much for our straggler,"Odysseus said

Black ships before troy

In my mastery class, i am reading the book "Black ships before troy".It is about the trojan war. i choose this because it looked more interesting than "Detectives in togas"."Detectives in togas" looked lame.
