Mike Durant

The ground convoy could not get to Mike Durants crash site in time to rescue him and his crew. He survives and is held captive by Aidid. But no one else at the crash site lives. but the ground convoy did get to the wounded rangers and delta force soldiers. those soldiers were on the ground in mogadishu fighting and surviving for 18 hours. Aidid gives Durant back without getting anything for trade. the end of the book is when Durant is back in America. this book is based on real events and i would recomend it.

Black Hawk Down

I am reading the book black hawk down because i like war books. This is one of my favorite ones so far.I read one called lone survivor which is about a navy seal team that was sent somewhere in afghanistan to take out an insurgent. The mission goes wrong and the rest of the book is about how one navy seal got back to safety.This one is tied with black hawk down so far. in black hawk down the delta force soldiers soldiers are sent to mogadishu to capture some followers of the warlord mohamed farrah aidid.the army rangers are sent in also. During the mission a black hawk is shot down by an RPG. another hellicopter also goesdown by an rpg hit. the ground convoy that was supposed to bring the captives and the soldiers back to base is lost and barely running.the rest so far is how the soldiers are trying to save the people in the wreck and last until rienforcements come, if they even do come.this book is really graphic and tells about how war really is. its really good and i would recomend it to people even though i have not finished it yet.
